Custom Leather and Denim Painting

ABOUT US

These are one of a kind custom hand painted pieces of art for your jacket, jeans, vest or chaps. We will never duplicate your artwork for another. Air brushed art is just not as detailed as hand painted. We will, in the future, be offering a mix of both air brush and hand painted work. Hand painting is more time intensive but offers a finer detail option. Right now we are concentrating on doing the absolute best job out there for a price that is competitive with any you can find.

We use the best leather paints you can get from a company that has been in business since the early 1900's . The process we use requires three steps to get the paint to adhere and sink deep into the leather. Making it more flexible and lasting longer than most paints out there. We will not do flouresent colors as they will damage the leather with the chemicals that are required to create them.

On denims we use a brand which will be long lasting. With good basic care it should last as long as the coat. Of course serious rough and tumble usage of the denims will shorten the life span. We want you to know this and we are in the process of "trashing" our own jackets. This way we can tell you from experience, not geuss work, what to expect. Claims are one thing; facts are another. We want you wearing your art with pride for years to come.

The Artist Pam Pantuso has sold artwork through much of the country. Beginning in the early 80's while still in High School. Beginning as a portrait artist her love for bikes and cars has led her to this point. An accomplished photographer ,also, she has an eye for detail and composition. All this combines to create a finely detailed piece of art.

Your Custom Piece

We will work with you on your own composition. Tell us what you want! From simple to fancy we can work with you on it. The composition is up to you. The price will depend on just how detailed or simple you want it. Our price listing gives you our prices for most of what we will do. Of course the more details and items you add will change the price. But this will give you a chance to decide what and how much you want. A basic bike will cost you $150 but a detailed copy of your bike with an elaborate custom paint scheme will cost you more.

We will do rough sketches until we get it right. No work will begin until you are happy with what you'll wear. Be aware that once your design has been started any changes you want will add to the cost. So we want it right the first time. The process we use is alittle hard to stop in the middle and change, but we think the results are worth it.

F.A.Q'S

How do I take care of my denims? As we have said we are abusing our coats to better see how our paintings wear and last. After washing on a regular cycle in the washer with regular detergent I ran the my coat through the dryer on cotton settings. This did cause some crackling of the more heavily painted area. Our advice is to wash on a gentle cycle after turning the item inside out. Then allow dry on permanant press or light heat settings or simply allow to air dry. My personal coat has seen 15 washings, and counting, with small crackling but no peeling. My fiance's is worn regularly and is very abused, thrown in the truck, on the floor, and the ground where ever it lands. It has shown no crackling at all.

How do I care for my leathers? The paint company says you can treat your leathers just as you normally would. Oiling is okay right over the paint. We have specifically asked them about Neatsfoot, Mink oil, and Saddle soap. The reply was, "Go ahead. No problems."

How do I begin a custom project? Come up with your idea or look at some of our examples. You can contact us at asphalt_attitudes@yahoo.com with your idea. We will let you know what we are thinking will be a time frame for completion and cost. We do require a $75 deposit for us to start your design in rough sketch. After that we'll get a sketch going and shoot you different ideas we have. Once the basic design is done we'll work on the colors you want. Absolutely nothing will go on you item until we have tottal agreement on colors, design, and cost. If you already have a design all drawn out, then we just need to verify there is no copy right on it and we'll get on it.

How do I verify a club membership? That's easy. All we want is a letter from the club saying you belong. We just don't want a bunch of wanna-be's running around with colors on they didn't earn and sure don't deserve. We respect the MC's right and priviledge to have only members wear their colors and would never knowingly reproduce a patch without being pretty sure people are who they say. A support patch might be alittle on the iffy side for us because that is still a MC logo. There is a big difference between a girl scout patch and an MC for us. If we aren't comfortable we won't do it.
